For articles on international adoption not found in adoption agency magazines or promotional materials, check out this archive at: http://thesearchformothermissing.blogspot.com My suggestion for wanting couples is to make sure that the child they are interested in is truly an orphan. This means requesting from the adoption agency the death certificates of both biological parents. If the adoption agency cannot pull up death certificates, the child is not an orphan and could have been stolen, manipulated or counseled from his or her parents. You do not want to risk potential lawsuits and problems caused by adoption agencies that will eventually trickle down and influence the relationship between you and your adopted child. And remember, if you are looking to adopt, the agency will want you to prove your potential to be a loving parent. It is your right to request proof of orphanhood from the agency. Make sure that they are telling the truth about who they are! Unfortunately, adoption agencies only offer one side of the adoption story so wanting and looking couples eventually get shocked by birthright issues that they were not educated about prior to adopting. The archive provides awareness to the side of adoption that is kept silent by profiteers. | |||||||||||||
